Yoga, an ancient practice from India, combines body postures and breathing to promote strength, balance, and flexibility.  Qigong, an ancient practice from China, combines soft movements and breathing to cleanse and build the body’s supply of vital life energy.

Many of our Western exercise forms are very
yang—with an emphasis on pushing, striving, and overactivity.  Much of our lives and our minds are also spent in constant action.  EnerQi Yoga provides an active practice to satisfy our need to move and strengthen our bodies.

But EnerQi (pronounced
enner-chee) Yoga also provides the yin to balance the yang.  Yoga poses are alternated with qigong movements.  Each yoga pose combines physical strength (yang) with the stillness (yin) of holding the pose.  Each qigong movement combines rhythmic movements (yang) with a relaxed body and meditative mind (yin).

Breathing, guided imagery, and balancing yin and yang are the hallmarks of EnerQi Yoga.  Each session is designed around a healing theme.  The practice will cleanse, boost, and balance your vital life force energy
(qi), leaving you with a sense of vitality, clarity, and flow.

Health is balance.  When the body, mind, and spirit are in union with each other and in balance with the flow of the universe, we reach a state of blissful health.  EnerQi Yoga is a refreshing approach to finding that harmony.
What are the benefits?

EnerQi Yoga benefits every bodily function and system, calms and quiets the mind, releases stress, and revitalizes the spirit.  Most importantly, practicing EnerQi Yoga opens up our vital life force energy (known as
qi in qigong and prana in yoga) to allow it to flow smoothly and easily throughout our physical body.  We not only unleash energy blockages, we also cleanse toxic energy and gather fresh new energy.  This system builds the body’s energy reserves so that it will naturally and easily be able to heal itself.  And it just feels good!
What do I wear?

EnerQi Yoga is best performed barefoot, wearing warm, comfortable clothing.

About EnerQi YogaTM...

Lori Furbush E-RYT RMT created the EnerQi Yoga method, after exploring the similarities between the healing systems of Yoga and Qigong.  These approaches both use the physical body and breath as a vehicle toward transformation.  The core focus of each practice is to cleanse, circulate, and recharge the body's life force energy for balance and healing.  Both Qigong and Yoga are complete and viable systems of health in themselves.  But when
blended together, the sum creates a synergy that is greater than the parts.  Combining the strength and softness of both Qigong and Yoga creates...
                          ...
a powerful healing tonic for body, mind, & spirit.
